News: The Voice 21: Biggest News Stories From The Cast This Week (Oct 8)

As the competition heats up on The Voice season 21, this has been another eventful week of news stories, from coach Ariana Grande getting mixed reactions to Ed Sheeran joining the show as a mentor. With the introduction of Ariana as a new coach, The Voice season 21 premiered on Monday, September 20 on NBC. Since then, dozens of aspiring singers have performed in their Blind Auditions for a chance to join one of the coaches’ teams.Alas, it’s been harder than ever for coaches Kelly Clarkson, Blake Shelton, and John Legend to convince singers to join their respective teams now that they’re up against Ariana – one of the biggest pop stars in the world at the moment. This season, the coaches were once again tasked with filling up their initial teams with 12 contestants. With that said, it is important to note that this is only the first phase of The Voice season 21. There’s still a lot of competition ahead of us.This was an important week for The Voice given that the upcoming rounds were kicked off and new additions to the show were announced. The fans have also been very active on social media as they share their opinions about the contestants who are moving forward in the competition versus singers who didn’t land a spot in any of the teams. So, it’s time to break down all of the biggest events from the week. After six episodes that aired over the course of three weeks on NBC, all of the Blind Auditions on The Voice season 21 are now officially over. Each coach currently has 12 contestants in their respective teams. Noteworthy singers include those that got all four coaches to turn around for them in the Blind Auditions, such as Girl Named Tom, Gymani, Wendy Moten, Holly Forbes, Carson Peters, Brittany Bree, and Aaron Hines. All of the singers will now be moving into the Battles round. Only eight singers are expected to survive the Battles. Then, the remaining contestants will face off in the subsequent Knockouts round.A very big moment from this week was Ariana turning around her red chair for David Vogel’s Blind Audition. David sang Ariana’s song “breathin'”, which made her feel particularly compelled to turn around for him. Alas, she was the only coach to turn around for him. As a result, The Voice fans had mixed reactions to Ariana turning her chair for David. These viewers argue that Ari probably felt guilty about not turning for a singer performing a song of hers, but that this Blind Audition was probably not worthy of a spot on Team Ariana. With that said, it should be noted that this is just a matter of personal preferences. Ariana probably heard something special in David’s voice. Now that the Blind Auditions are behind us, The Voice season 21 will move forward to the Battles round. In August 2021, four different advisors were announced for each team. Team Ariana will have Kristin Chenoweth, Team Legend will have Camila Cabello, Team Kelly will have Jason Aldean, and Team Blake will have Dierks Bentley. After the Battles, the contestants will move on to the Knockouts round. This week, pop superstar Ed Sheeran was cast as the Mega Mentor for the Knockouts. Ed will be singlehandedly mentoring all of the singers left on the show, so he’ll collaborate with all four coaches.

News: PS4s Stacked In a Tower To Prove Point About Console Repair

In a new video, broken PlayStation 4 consoles were stacked in a tower to raise awareness about an ongoing electronics issue: the right to repair. The fight for this right expands to everything from gaming consoles (like the PlayStation and Xbox) to smartphones. Even US President Joe Biden recently supported the right to repair, but it is important to note that this right already exists in one of the largest industries in the world: the automotive industry. There are laws in the United States that require automotive companies to make sure various parts are available to consumers, as well as instruction manuals on how everything works. This right gives consumers the freedom to make repairs to their vehicles themselves. But some major electronic companies still don’t work the same way, and even though the PlayStation 5’s functions were revealed by a patent recently, users still struggle to repair their own machines. The right to repair is important for many reasons, like the fact that it helps prevent tons of perfectly functional products from sitting in a landfill. A major problem with many consoles and smartphones is that it is often much more lucrative for a company to encourage consumers to simply buy a new product than it is to sell parts and instructions on how to make the device last longer. Any console gamer will remember the Xbox 360 and the dreaded red ring of death, something that is now being mimicked by Xbox One’s black screen of death. This red ring was terrifying not only because it meant the Xbox wouldn’t work, but also because there was nothing the consumer could reasonably do about it, other than pack it in a box, send it away to Microsoft, and wait. YouTube channel TronicsFix posted a video a few days ago seeing just how many broken PS4s could be stacked on top of each other. TronicsFix brought sixty-two broken PS4s to the film location, explaining that every one of these consoles could be fixed if the parts and the instructions were available to the average consumer. The tower manages to reach forty-two PS4s before an unfortunate gust of wind causes the consoles to come crashing down. Even without stacking all of the PS4s that were obtained, TronicsFix still claimed it might be a world record.Watch the PS4 stacking video on YouTube here.Between stacking more and more PS4s, the video also discusses the right to repair. TronicsFix points out that it was easy to replace and install a part of his tractor through the manufacturer, but impossible to do so with a PS4 without turning to independent online sources. The importance of the right to repair comes from the consumer’s ability to choose how to repair the products that they have purchased. Also, the right to repair could save time and money. Modifying consoles is a tricky situation; for instance, Valve discouraged opening the Steam Deck in a recent video, citing potential fires alongside the more traditional voiding of warranty, but many believe the benefits outweigh the potential costs.Gaming consoles are hugely expensive products that are important to anyone who owns them, and it seems wrong to leave so much ownership still in the hands of huge companies like Microsoft and Sony. Hopefully, going forward, laws will be implemented that will allow consumers to be more informed about their consoles, and perhaps whatever the next red rings of death are won’t be quite as frightening as they once were, whether they appear on PlayStation or Xbox consoles.Source: TronicsFix/YouTube

News: 90 Day Fiancé: Loren Reacts To Fan Who Doubted Her Tourette Syndrome

Former 90 Day Fiancé star Loren Brovarnik recently responded to a fan who questioned her struggle with Tourette syndrome. Loren, a mother of two sons first opened up about her medical condition on 90 Day Fiancé in 2016. It was tough for her to talk about her neurological disorder because she kept it a secret for so long. While recording a confessional, Loren told TLC cameras that she was upset because Alexei Brovarnik told his mother about her diagnosis. Then the cameras showed Loren experiencing some symptoms while working on a laptop. Loren decided to speak about her medical secret after she saw critics making mean comments about her. While some fans thought her symptoms were related to drug abuse, others just made fun of her eye movement. Since then, she hasn’t tried to hide her involuntary movements and has been quite open to talking about them. She has fully accepted Tourette syndrome as a part of her. Now Loren feels confident in her own skin. The Florida resident is also an ambassador for the Tourette Association of America. However, a fan thinks that Loren’s Tourette syndrome may not be real. During a Q&A session on Instagram, the fan asked Loren whether she twitches in real life because they only saw her symptoms on the show. Former 90 Day Fiancé celeb Loren didn’t ignore the question and replied with a video in which she twitched a little. She said, “Yes, Tourette is very real for me.” She told the fan that just because she doesn’t do it all the time doesn’t mean it isn’t there. She added, “It isn’t always what is portrayed in the movies.”A few months back, when Loren was pregnant with her second baby boy, she spoke about her Tourette syndrome and whether it had affected her pregnancy. She said that her symptoms were worse during that pregnancy; it affected her a lot at night. But Alexei comforted her by saying that her body was changing, which could be triggering her symptoms. Loren also worried about passing her neurological disorder to her kids. But the couple has decided not to stress because they can’t do anything about it.They are mentally prepared to deal with Tourette syndrome if any of their children have it. It is true that Loren, who recently revealed the push present she got from Alexei, doesn’t twitch in every video that she shares on social media. But that doesn’t mean that her medical condition isn’t real. It is possible that she chooses to share pictures and videos in which she isn’t showing her symptoms so that fans don’t get distracted from the main content. Loren deserves a big round of applause because she has helped some 90 Day Fiancé fans who struggle with the same disorder.Source: Loren Brovarnik/Instagram

News: Bruce Davison Interview: The Manor

Welcome to the Blumhouse is back with The Manor, a film centered on an elderly woman who moves into a nursing home following a massive stroke and suspects a dark secret behind the deaths of the residents. The cast for the film is led by horror icon Barbara Hershey alongside Nicholas Alexander, Bruce Davison, Jill Larson, Fran Bennett, Katie A. Keene, and Ciera Peyton.Screen Rant got the opportunity to exclusively speak with Bruce Davison for The Manor, the terror from writer/director Axelle Carolyn’s script, and his love for the horror genre.TechCrunch: I love The Manor, it’s such a fun and really intriguing build to the final reveal. What about the film and the script really stood out to you as something you wanted to be a part of?Bruce Davison: Well, there were a number of things. First of all, meeting Axelle, the director, she had a wonderful vision, she had a vision of a story she wanted to tell and it was clear to her. She had a clarity about the kind of story she wanted to tell. Secondly, Barbara Hershey. I did my first film with Barbara in 1968, so coming full circle with us in our lives was really, you know, kind of the seven ages of man of actors. It’s just an intriguing story and it plugs into a fear that a lot of people haven’t really gotten a chance to look at, which is kind of special, which is who believes you when you get old? Who believes you and then who cares when you get old? We don’t die young, that’s what happens to all of us.It’s definitely a theme that does not get explored as often as it could in the genre, so I’m glad that Axelle brought that to life. What were some of the biggest creative challenges for you coming into this project?Bruce Davison: Oh, gosh, it’s not so much a creative challenge anymore, because I’ve gotten to the point in my life where pretty much what you see is what you get, you know? I don’t have to spend a lot of time in makeup unless it’s horror makeup and I just like to be able to find a character and something about the character that I want to enjoy. The character I’m playing is filled with joy, he just has a blast and I love that. What was interesting is Axelle would encourage that in different scenes too. Something would happen and I find a joke in it or some funny twist on it and she said, “Yeah, that’s it. That’s good.” So this was one of the easier kinds of journeys that I’d had in a movie. I mean, I didn’t have to suffer a lot. Villains are always great, too, you don’t suffer as much as a victim or as the hero. Since the chemistry between you and the whole friend group in the home is such a vital element of making this film so entertaining, what was it like building that rapport and chemistry with one another?Bruce Davison: It was so great. It was Jill [Larson] and Fran Bennett and Katie Amanda Keane, all of them brought their own characters so thoroughly to it. What was wonderful about Axelle is she puts four people around a table and she’s cast, people that have their own agendas and their own ideas and their own, as actors, great creativity. Then, you know, it’s just bouncing a ball into the middle of that and see who swats it around and that’s what was fun. Because we’ve been there a while and we’re all looking to find joy in whatever life is left. This is not the first time we’ve seen you in the horror genre, of course, but what is it about this genre you feel keeps bringing you back to it?Bruce Davison: Vincent Price. I always wanted to be Vincent Price. I met him at a dinner one time and he was just the sweetest man. And I said, “Did you enjoy it all” and he said, “Yeah, some stick to the wall, some didn’t. But they were all fun. It was just fun to do it. And I got to make a name for myself in that genre.” And I thought, “Yeah, I love something like that.” That’s great.

News: Skyrim’s Stones Of Barenziah: Is The Reward Worth It

Finding the Stones of Barenziah is perhaps one of the most notorious quests in all of Skyrim, as players are required to scour the whole of the game’s expansive map looking for the pieces of Barenziah’s Crown. Many players may not even bother putting forth the effort, as it’s notably difficult to locate the easily missable, unmarked items required. As a result, few ever receive the reward the quest offers. However, is the Stones of Barenziah reward even worth it in the first place? The quest “No Stone Unturned” begins when players discover their first Stone of Barenziah, a collection of 24 unusual gems scattered across the entire map. Upon bringing it to an appraiser – something that requires that the Dragonborn become a member of Skyrim’s Thieves Guild and talk to Vex – it kicks off the objective of finding every last one of the unmarked gems. Once all of them have been recovered, players then have to retrieve the Crown of Barenziah, which can be recovered from Tolvald’s Cave.Related: Skyrim Side Quests You Can Just Ignore The reward for collecting all the Stones of Barenizah is a unique ability, Prowler’s Profit, which significantly increases the chance of finding multiple gems in places like chests or looted enemies. The completed Crown of Barenziah is also displayed alongside other recovered items in the Thieves Guild headquarters. Other than that, though, there isn’t much incentive to locating all of the Stones of Barenziah, especially given how difficult it is compared to most other and better side quests in Skyrim.Prowler’s Profit might seem like a worthwhile ability for players who are just starting out, but even then, its usefulness is questionable at best. Many Skyrim players aren’t necessarily worried about profits, especially those who have joined the Thieves Guild, a necessary requirement for appraising the Stones of Barenziah in the first place. Stolen items are objectively easier to find and turn over for a profit than legitimately obtained loot. On top of that, given how much Skyrim’s map needs to be explored to find the Stones of Barenziah, most players will be well beyond the point of lacking in gold. The reward is only really worthwhile for those who are looking to fully complete Skyrim’s Thieves Guild collection. So, the answer to “Is the Stones of Barenziah reward worth it?” would be “no.”Perhaps that’s why it’s so common for Skyrim players to simply mod their way around the difficulty. The Stones of Barenziah Quest Markers mod on the game’s Nexus page has over 1.5 million downloads for Skyrim Special Edition alone, and multiple guides and checklists can be found in Skyrim’s online community to help find the unmarked Stones of Barenziah for players who don’t want to mod their game. Overall, the Stones of Barenziah seems like a good idea in practice. A scavenger hunt across Skyrim is a great way to make players explore locations they otherwise might not consider venturing into, and it gives even high-leveled characters something to strive for. In practice, though, the effort it takes just isn’t worth the paltry reward.Next: Skyrim’s Toughest Bosses (That Aren’t Dragons)Source: Nexusfrom ScreenRant – Feed https://ift.tt/3uWoxtK https://ift.tt/3FrFYaB

News: Venom: Let There Be Carnage – Which Character Are You, Based On Your Zodiac Sign?

Picking up where Venom left off, Venom: Let There Be Carnage faces the wide-eyed symbiote with his greatest enemy: Carnage. First, though, Venom will have to come to terms with both his host body and his own place in the world.RELATED: 10 Explanations For Venom 2’s Post-Credit SequenceVenom: Let There Be Carnage spends most of its time on the dynamic between Eddie Brock and Venom. However, there is still a wide array of both returning and new characters who can each be assigned one of the 12 signs on the astrological chart.12 Aries – Cletus KasadyThe Aries is someone who gets angry so regularly that they forget why they became angry in the first place. Rams get bored without constant stimuli and will do just about anything if egged on. Cletus Kasady almost never stops getting angry.Kasady says he’s had a hard life (i.e. abuse from his grandmother and mother) but he doesn’t know how to use his anger for positive means. The red-haired serial killer can come across as simple, like a constantly grinning child. His preferred stimulus is (fittingly) carnage, which he embraces frequently. Going to that prison cell was one of the worst decisions Eddie Brock has made. Had he stayed away from Kasady, the killer would never have been exposed to the symbiote which allows him to experience violence on a whole new level.11 Taurus – Anne WeyingA Taurus is going to be happy with the status quo. They think logically and frequently find themselves rigidly adhering to a schedule. Because of this, the Bull is typically viewed as hard-headed. Picking up where Venom left off, Venom: Let There Be Carnage faces the wide-eyed symbiote with his greatest enemy: Carnage. First, though, Venom will have to come to terms with both his host body and his own place in the world.

RELATED: 10 Explanations For Venom 2’s Post-Credit Sequence

Venom: Let There Be Carnage spends most of its time on the dynamic between Eddie Brock and Venom. However, there is still a wide array of both returning and new characters who can each be assigned one of the 12 signs on the astrological chart.

12 Aries – Cletus Kasady

The Aries is someone who gets angry so regularly that they forget why they became angry in the first place. Rams get bored without constant stimuli and will do just about anything if egged on. Cletus Kasady almost never stops getting angry.

Kasady says he’s had a hard life (i.e. abuse from his grandmother and mother) but he doesn’t know how to use his anger for positive means. The red-haired serial killer can come across as simple, like a constantly grinning child. His preferred stimulus is (fittingly) carnage, which he embraces frequently. Going to that prison cell was one of the worst decisions Eddie Brock has made. Had he stayed away from Kasady, the killer would never have been exposed to the symbiote which allows him to experience violence on a whole new level.

11 Taurus – Anne Weying

A Taurus is going to be happy with the status quo. They think logically and frequently find themselves rigidly adhering to a schedule. Because of this, the Bull is typically viewed as hard-headed. Anne Weying (Michelle Williams) is probably the only non-symbiote stubborn enough to be able to put up with Eddie Brock.

On top of being the most likable character in Venom: Let There Be Carnage, Weying is a strictly logical thinker. Emotion hardly ever takes over with her and she can embrace potentially catastrophic situations with a clear head. This agency was seen in Venom and again in Venom: Let There Be Carnage (although with less screentime).

10 Gemini – Venom

A twin can capture an entire room’s attention with their voice. They have the mind of a Renaissance man, engaging in many topics. Lastly, a Gemini can flip any awkward conversation with a joke. All of these traits indicate someone who’s great at a party. And, as seen in Venom: Let There Be Carnage, Venom is great at a party.

A Renaissance man is someone who can tackle just about any task with a comparable level of efficiency. Venom has a child’s curious mind and tends to give his best shot no matter the scenario. Venom also has the tendency to drop a joke in the middle of an argument, which deflates the tension between him and host: Eddie Brock. This occasionally results in some of Venom’s most badass quotes.

9 Cancer – Dr. Dan Lewis

Crabs are extra sensitive to stimuli and frequently seek a safe environment. A Cancer will forgive a transgression, but never reach the point of forgetting it. They will put themselves in a vulnerable position for others often, but typically have one personal line that must not be crossed.

Dr. Dan Lewis (now the fiancé to Weying) doesn’t have too much to do in Venom: Let There Be Carnage, but when he does step into the spotlight it’s for good reason. When his fiancée is kidnapped, this is when Dan puts his tension with Brock aside in favor of proactivity.

8 Leo – Carnage

When interacting with the Lion, a big personality should be expected. Leos are the creative type with both the desire and the ability to make an impression. Carnage makes an impression no matter which room he’s in, even if the other occupants don’t tend to leave it alive.

Carnage employs creative solutions in his terror (i.e. letting the other prisoners out during his/Kasady’s jailbreak). Mostly, though, Carnage wants dominance. He wants to kill Venom (essentially his father) and bring harm to the world with impunity.

7 Virgo – Detective Mulligan

As long as there is an activity in progress, the Virgo will be fine. If they don’t feel like their talents are being utilized, though, they’ll shut down. Overall, the Virgo is a good-hearted fixer with a judgmental tone. Detective Mulligan is a fixer and is constantly on the move (while also using his talents on the job).

Mulligan gets a fair amount of Venom: Let There Be Carnage‘s narrative heft. He’s responsible for Shriek losing her eye and at least partially responsible for Kasady’s incarceration. Additionally, Mulligan seems like a man who only feels alive when he’s wearing the badge.

6 Libra – Mrs. Chen

Scales are social butterflies that prefer a permanent sense of peace. A Libra likes to analyze every side of a conflict as opposed to just their own but has a hard time making decisions in times of stress. Mrs. Chen certainly engages in analysis, constantly criticizing Brock’s latest decision or physical appearance every time he’s in her store.

She is one of the very few people who know about Venom. Most would look at the situation with a frightened disposition; Mrs. Chen, however, looks at it from both Venom and Brock’s viewpoints (realizing they need one another). Furthermore, Mrs. Chen seems perfectly content in her shop, providing her with a sense of peace.

5 Scorpio – Eddie Brock

The scorpion is content sitting silently in the back corner of the room. They’ll kick back with their legs stretched out, seemingly uncaring about the opinions of others. However, if there’s chemistry, the Scorpio’s eyes will hold on and never let go. Eddie Brock doesn’t have many close people in his life, but those who he loves he protects with everything in him.

Eddie Brock has changed since Venom, but he’s yet to fully reach adulthood. He has difficulty expressing his feelings, especially to Weying (whom he still carries a torch for), but he can still captivate her with his gaze.

4 Sagittarius – Young Shriek

The Archer is emotional but has the drive to improve themselves. A Sagittarius uses their words like weapons but typically speaks in truth. They also have a tendency to question their worth.

The younger version of Shriek/Barrison is in only one scene of Venom: Let There Be Carnage, but with that time it’s clear that she speaks honestly. She’s been beaten down by life and the cruel people within it. But with Kasady, she feels free to engage in open communication.

Dr. Pazzo, Shriek’s main physician, isn’t in the movie much but with the time provided it’s obvious she’s career-driven.

2 Aquarius – Frances Barrison / Shriek

The Water Bearer is uninterested in feelings. They are far more compelled to build a life composed of as much independence as possible. Natural, considering an Aquarius tends to feel like an outcast anyway.

Frances Barrison is utterly uninterested in spending her time with another human being, with the sole exception of Kassidy. Outside of Carnage, she’s the movie’s most anti-social character. News: Windows 11: How to download the upgrade right now

Windows 11 kicked off its wide rollout on Tuesday. Microsoft launched its new operating system and began rolling it out to eligible devices on Oct. 5, and the upgrade is free to everyone already using Windows 10. However, because Microsoft is rolling out the OS in phases, your system might not show the option to upgrade just yet. An August blog post from Microsoft said the company expects “all eligible devices to be offered the free upgrade to Windows 11 by mid-2022.” Don’t want to wait? Read on to find out how the Windows 11 Installation Assistant is your shortcut to Windows 11.If you’re not in a rush, however, the Windows 11 update will be pushed to your device at some point in the coming months when Microsoft’s data indicates the upgrade is ready for that device. When the new OS is available to you, the upgrade process will feel similar to a normal Windows 10 update, as long as your device is compatible and meets the minimum requirements needed. (And even if it doesn’t, Microsoft will offer a workaround, but your Windows 11 installation won’t be supported by the company.)Don’t want to wait until next year? You still have the option to manually download Windows 11 and check out its new features, such as widgets, snap layouts, virtual desktops and the new Microsoft Store. We’ll tell you how below. Before your download, here’s everything you need to know about Microsoft’s new software. To see if your current Windows 10 PC is eligible for the free upgrade to Windows 11, you can check in a few different ways. And if you buy a new PC, that computer will also be eligible for the free upgrade. If you haven’t updated to Windows 10 yet, don’t worry — there’s a trick for downloading Windows 10 free that still works. Now would be a good time to make the switch to prepare your machine for the Windows 11 upgrade. That trick will be the same one you use if you want to manually upgrade an older machine to Windows 11, though Microsoft doesn’t encourage doing this as it may not be eligible for the same updates.Source:CNET, Microsoft

News: Nordic countries are restricting the use of Moderna’s Covid vaccine. Here’s why

Finland, Denmark and Sweden are limiting the use of Moderna’s Covid-19 vaccine in young people over concerns around rare cardiovascular side effects.Finland’s national health authority, THL, announced Thursday that it would pause the use of Moderna’s Covid vaccine in young men. All males aged 30 or younger would be offered the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine instead, THL said. The decision by THL followed announcements from its Swedish and Danish counterparts on Wednesday that both would be restricting the use of the Moderna vaccine in similar demographics. In Sweden, the use of the vaccine will be stopped in people born in 1991 or later, while Denmark is pausing the Moderna shot in everyone under the age of 18.What’s the issue? The decision the three countries have made to limit the use of the Moderna vaccine centers around concerns it could be linked to cases of myocarditis, a condition where the heart muscle becomes inflamed. All three health authorities cited an unpublished Nordic study which had been sent to the European Medicines Agency for assessment, according to Reuters. In most cases, people with myocarditis recover without any complications, but in some rare and more severe cases, there can be damage to the heart.Myocarditis was most likely to develop in younger men and boys after receiving their second dose of the Moderna vaccine, according to Finland’s THL.Speaking at a coronavirus news briefing Thursday, Mika Salminen, director of health security at THL, said the possible risks posed by the Moderna vaccine seemed to be higher for younger male individuals.“THL’s instructions are that the Moderna vaccine should not be given to men and boys under the age of 30 for the time being, but that the Pfizer vaccine should be used instead,” he said, according to local media reports.Finland offers Covid-19 vaccinations to everyone over the age of 12. Of the population eligible for vaccination in Finland, 84% have received their first dose and 72% have received two doses.Sweden’s health body, meanwhile, said data suggested that instances of myocarditis and pericarditis — an inflammation of the outer lining of the heart — were higher among young people who had been immunized, Reuters reported Wednesday.A spokesperson for Moderna was not immediately available for comment when contacted by CNBC. The company told Reuters that these are “typically mild cases and individuals tend to recover within a short time following standard treatment and rest.”“The risk of myocarditis is substantially increased for those who contract COVID-19, and vaccination is the best way to protect against this,” the spokesperson added.Benefits vs. risksDespite the risks associated with the immunization for young men, THL’s Salminen said Thursday that it was still important for everyone who was eligible to receive two doses of a vaccine.According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the known risks of Covid-19 and its potentially severe complications far outweigh the possibility of having a rare adverse reaction to a vaccination. That includes the potential risk of developing myocarditis. In August, a U.S. study found that males between the ages of 12 and 17 — the demographic most likely to develop myocarditis — were six times more likely to suffer heart inflammation from being infected with Covid-19 than from being vaccinated against the virus. After a second dose of a vaccine, there were 67 cases of myocarditis per million males in that age group. After contracting the coronavirus, the rate of myocarditis in that age group shot up to 450 cases per million, the study found.Meanwhile, research from Imperial College London in March found that half of patients hospitalized with severe cases of Covid were left with damage to their hearts.According to the U.S. CDC, most cases of post-vaccination myocarditis occur after a second dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna vaccine in male adolescents and young adults. Symptoms — which include pain or tightness in the chest, shortness of breath and heart palpitations — usually occur within days of vaccination.Source:CNBC

“The risk of myocarditis is substantially increased for those who contract COVID-19, and vaccination is the best way to protect against this,” the spokesperson added.

Benefits vs. risks

Despite the risks associated with the immunization for young men, THL’s Salminen said Thursday that it was still important for everyone who was eligible to receive two doses of a vaccine.

According to the U.S.

After contracting the coronavirus, the rate of myocarditis in that age group shot up to 450 cases per million, the study found.

Meanwhile, research from Imperial College London in March found that half of patients hospitalized with severe cases of Covid were left with damage to their hearts.

According to the U.S. CDC, most cases of post-vaccination myocarditis occur after a second dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna vaccine in male adolescents and young adults. Symptoms — which include pain or tightness in the chest, shortness of breath and heart palpitations — usually occur within days of vaccination.
